If you are renting out your motorhome or caravan in Norway for the first time, three things matter most: good photos, a clear description and fast replies to requests. Get these right and renters are far more likely to choose your listing. Here are seven practical tips for new hosts that lead to more enquiries and happier renters.

Quick overview

  • Best for: First-time motorhome and caravan hosts
  • Most important: A strong main photo and clear listing text
  • Response time: Reply to requests within 24 hours
  • Visibility: Share your listing on social media and with friends

1. Why are photos the most important part?

Photos are the first thing renters see, and they often decide whether someone clicks through. Make sure you have a strong main photo that shows the whole motorhome or caravan. Square photos work best, and check that every image is the right way up.

  • Shoot in daylight, ideally with scenery in the background.
  • Remove personal items before photographing the interior.
  • Include several interior shots: seating area, kitchen, beds and bathroom.
  • Show the vehicle in use – a photo from a real trip makes people want to travel.

2. What should your description include?

Write a few words about why your motorhome or caravan is great. Is it ideal for families, couples or long trips? Be clear about what is and isn't included in the rental:

  • How many kilometres are included, and the price for extra kilometres.
  • Which equipment comes with it, such as camping furniture, kitchen gear and bedding.
  • Rules on pets, smoking and cleaning on return.

If you want to charge for extra equipment or services, you can add them as add-on services in your Campr listing. The renter then pays for everything together through the platform.

3. Reply quickly – and ask for a good review

Response time is one of the biggest factors behind good reviews. When a request comes in, someone is waiting for your answer. Reply within 24 hours so you don't lose potential bookings, and renters get off to a good start. After the trip, ask the renter to leave a review. Good reviews make it easier for the next renter to choose you.

4. Link to your Campr listing from other channels

If you also advertise on finn.no (Norway's largest classifieds site) or elsewhere, include the web address of your Campr listing. That way interested renters can book directly on Campr, with secure payment and digital check-in and check-out.

5. Share your vehicle on social media

Use Facebook and Instagram actively to show off your motorhome or caravan. Share photos from your own trips and link to the listing. The more people who see it, the better your chances of renting it out.

6. Tell friends and colleagues

Let friends, family and colleagues know your motorhome or caravan is listed on Campr. Profitable renting can start in your own network, and they will often pass it on.

7. Tag Campr in your posts

If you tag your motorhome or caravan with @camprnorge on Facebook or Instagram, we will like the post and help more people find your listing on Campr.
